As a 60 something, I loved this coming of age of Frannie, her shyness and yet the wonder and fear of what life had to offer her as a 15 year old. He adores this book. Margo, with the stood up groom as an escort sets off on a journey across the country in her belated father's 1955 red MG.
In addition to the story, I looked forward to the next chapter. Compared to "Hardball for women" by Pat Heim and Susan Golant, this book goes from the description of the 'hardball' type management style natural for men to the analysis of the strength and weaknesses of men and women as managers. This second installment is even more intense than "My Brilliant Friend" and, after a couple of pages, picks up right where the first left off. It was great to get personal insights and "insider information" about the NHL through the years, the brotherhood of the team atmosphere, the highlights and lowlights of rivalries, and the hockey life in general from a gritty, hardworking player who truly loves
